I'm going to be starting P90x in two weeks... my buddy and I are going to do it together. I needed a friend who would force me to stay motivated and we're going to commit to it

Triabetes will be hosting a fun run + dinner on 9/22/2009, 6:30 PM at the Sports Basement in the Presidio (San Francisco). All abilities welcome; I can give you a good hard workout or you can run easy with me! Let me know if you might come, or just show up. Cheers.

I am a long distance runner and was diagnosed last October with type 1, I wasn't given any good advice from my 'diabetic educator' on how to go about running. I was pretty scared to run since I was told that my sugar could drop rapidly...but after starting out with a couple miles, I did notice that my sugar would drop a little and then just stay at a steady number. I haven't had any issues with working out and I will be running a half-marathon tomorrow! woohoo! I'm very excited!

Hey all I just joined tudiabetes yesterday and looking for lots of advice...I have been a T1 for about 7 years now(wow where does the time go) and I really need to improve my life as a diabetic. I have also set a big goal of running a marathon in April 2010, and I want to finish under four hours for sure but my BHAG is to qualify for BOSTON. I am looking for general advice on exercising as T1 and training for a marathon,

Spreading the word about a new support group for athletic diabetics in the DFW area of Texas. Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association is a national non-profit org, with volunteers doing most of the work. I have worked with this group to get a local chapter started, and it is finally moving along. We are a group of mostly type 1's, with a few type 2's, most are pretty active. We have marathoners, cyclists, walkers, from beginner to advanced. I just wanted a support group with other active diabetics who were working to maintain good control, not a group to commiserate with...We are meeting Sat. in Grapevine, at the community center. We have a speaker who is an endo, and a pump rep coming to show us the omni pod. Check out the national website, our flyer is posted there or respond to this post and I will get you the info.
