all the time. I'm afraid of dropping dead. My heart beats irregularly and it's terrifying. I can't even out my blood sugar readings.

Great question. I have had it for so long now 36 years - that it really is just me thinking normally. It is just a deeply embeded part of who I am. I don't conciously say oh I am diabetic I can't eat that. I just instictfuly know what works and may not and I experiment. I am thankful that I learned early on - at age 12 - that Excercise - Diet - and Insulin - were the three corners of the pyramid i would have to live with and balance to do all the other things in life I want to do. The formula has worked pretty well. I attribute a lot of my success to my parents who simply said and allowed me to - JUST DO IT - Long before that was a corporate slogan. Diabetes is part of my thinking anywhere from 0% - 100% depending on what's going on. I am not much of a dream reecaller but it's funny I don't recall any diabetes dreams. I think I will post a comment question about that. So anyhow bla bla bla...I think about diabetes on average about 1/8th of my waking hours or 2 hours a day. I think.......

24/7 365.

It shapes everything I do and don't do as Carol said, it's stuck in there and it's not going away.

All the time. It colours everything I do and don't do. I've been so terrified by what all ther "experts" tell me that I'm scared to do much of anything. It took a lot of courage just to go out to a restaurant the first time. And I still am unable to get the dosing right.

I live with type 1, I work in diabetes media, and I write a diabetes blog. I think it's safe to say that I am currently thinking about diabetes pretty darn often. ;)

Right now I am thinking about it 24/7 because I just started insulin and trying to adjust amounts. If I stop thinking about it I will go back to not watching what I eat and my numbers. It is what it is. Trying to have a positive attitude but it is hard.

God Bless
Barbara
