Hi from Anne in Freo, West Australia. I'd say there are many of us 'out there' and most, including our health professionals, are not aware of many diabetes support groups. This online support group is an excellent resource and so few people use it in OZ. Let's Spread the Word to all our specialists, diabetic educators, GP's etc. Research now confirms SOCIAL SUPPORT is one of the main predictors of successful management in diabetes and healthier outcomes for any chronic illness. We and our families become complacent over time. Belonging to this community is so welcome after years of knowing no-one else with diabetes. I joined 'cause I was losing motivation to get on top with my diabetes...how about anyone else?

My husband is originally from outside of Auckland, NZ, so I thought I'd squeeze into this group with that reason:D

There is a chance we'll move there again someday - but the main hinderance at this point is that I have medical coverage for the Minimed Paradigm pump 522 and the CGMS. I'm just not sure what the coverage is like in NZ or Australia.
