Yea.. My pump rep, CED, endo, and dietitian and I turned my pump off saline and made it "live" with insulin. It has taken me over a year to get the Dr. approval and the insurance and everything.. vacations (theirs not mine) yelling, orders misplaced it happened today ! My blue Ping is working away. We were on saline two meters and the pump and pen,for a week, I think they ust wanted me to appreciate the pump and the Ping meter more! After it was all done my Dr. offered us all a SMALL slice of cheesecake. Wow. yes I had some. and showed everybody I could bolis to compensate for it. So today is my new life day and I am happy !
Thaks to Tu for all the advice and lurking I have faith this will be a very positive thing !

Ok, I failed to get any reasonable deal made with my substandard insurance so I have taken out a credit card specifically for the pump and ongoing supply expenses. My ping should come Wednesday. I am so exicted and so nervous! I just couldnt keep going the way I am - complications are getting way too scary and I am tired of being sick all the time! I have never had a good handle on my levels and I have had diabetes for 15 years! I think with some hard start up work this will be the change I need! Yay! Thank you to everyone who replied to my discussion post a few weeks ago :)

Hi! I started on the OmniPod June of this year and am still tweaking to get my bg down. Have worn on my arm, abdomen and leg. Still getting high bg later in day...any suggestions? I love the free feeling of wearing the pod, trainer has been great with suggestions.

Here is the web site for ipump

http://www.ipump.org/donations/pumps_1.html

I donated mine and they were very easy to work with.

Hi Falynn! Great idea! You can see if you cannot donate it to ipump.org. You cannot donate personally to someone through TuDiabetes, as this is a prescription item, but hopefully IPump will be able to get it to someone who needs it!
