dating another diabetic would be great. it would get rid of the "you're eating again?!" and "are doing the blood thing right now?" questions that i hear too many times. plus itd be easier adapting to eating schedules, where i wouldnt be eating alone, and keeping diabetes in check as opposed to people who dont eat right and/or skip meals and so on

Hi everyone! I dont even know anyone who's diabetic never mind find one to date. I just got started on the pump last week...loving it so far,not missing those injections....but hey...how do I explain a pump hanging from my abdomen? That will be fun lol

Dating a diabetic is pretty great because from the moment you meet you have a understanding with each other, is what i felt in past dates. Live and love it up.

I am going thru a Divorce now and I am sure diabetes played a role in our issues. She understood when we were married but it seemed I did not get the positive support from her as time went on.I have been a type 1 since age 12 and am now 44

My experiences showed me how it's difficult to go with someone without diabetes... I don't need someone now but I join this group maybe to read others stories! what a bad idea! or maybe a good one.

OMG!!! This is exactly what I have wanted to find...
I am 62, widowed, and dating (well, as much as I can).
I just got the Omnipod - and I have a coffee-date with a new guy tomorrow.
He know I have diabetes - but I don't think he really has a clue as to what that means. Anyway - I just got the Omnipod pump - and it is a little bigger than I though it would be. Do you think that any kind of a pump would be a "turn-off" (for want of a better word)? I think its one thing when you have a life-partner - they already know your wonderful. But for someone who dosen't really know you - having this weird thingy stuck to her body...
I hope you all don't think I nutz. But I am so happy to at least have a place to ask this question.
Thanks so much,
Susan

I agree dating a diabetic would be easier because they understand. I have had some bad dating experiences.

Hi there! I think I'd like to date a diabetic, considering my last experiences, he would understand me much more!

i think it would be very cool to date another diabetic. the bond we all share is huge. I can only imagine if there was that extra level on connection there. (and you can share supplies) :)

any single females - in or around Los Angeles? email me.

So I know this isn't a dating forum. But wouldn't it be nice to be able to search by gender or age for friends who have or understand diabetic issues? Is there a way to do so in our members list?
Any 40-60 year old women in So Cal who are diabetics? It might be nice to date someone who doesn't ask about the "pager" on my belt. Even some one who knows I'm not text messaging the kids when I check the BG and administer the bolus before dinner. Sure it gives me the opportunity to describe what being diabetic means, but then they finish the date waiting for me to keel over or die before desert. Wouldn't it be nice to meet someone who deals with these issues on their own?
