Now here is where I may be able to help. I have been a type1 for the last thirty five yers, and am doing very well. You are basically in the process of becoming your own doctor/caregiver and the best resource I know of is a book called "Diabetes Solution" by Dr Richard K. Bernstein. He is both a diabetic and an Endocronologist.
You may be interested to read my blog on Oprah's web site in the Diabetes Support Board called Diabetes The Real Cost. You can find it at www.oprah.com/community/community/health/diabetes There is no need to respond, just be as well as possible. To know is only to be aware, to experience is to truly understand, and we do.
Love Always
The Anonymous Diabetic.
Ahh cheers sweet, same to youu =)
I exercise in the morning, I'm abit more insulin resistant then. I usually just run so I don't take my shot in my leg andd before I run I like to be around 6.7 about 120. Goddd I know, really annoys me when I come home from the run and have to eat.. the reason I ran was to burn the calories geeee's.
But hope that helps you anywayyyyyy =)
Thanks for the add =)
I am also a member of this group and a Type 1 Diabetic. I thought you might be interested in meeting other Type 1s and wanted to let you know that I am the organizer of a meetup group called G.A.T.E.-Gastroparesis And Type1 Diabetes Exchange.
It is for Type 1s as well as for those with Gastroparesis and their caregivers. You can have either condition separately and don't need to have both to join. It is a support and activities group for people with similar conditions to interact, network, participate in discussions, ask questions, share experiences, or to vent frustrations. I will also have guest speakers periodically.
This is a new group that will meet in Union City on the third Sunday of each month starting May 17. If you would like to learn more, please check us out
G.A.T.E. website:

I hope you will consider joining us for a future meeting.
Thanks,
Margaret
