Mine was 144 this morning, not good but I know why. I ate carbs late the night before. I find if I try to keep my BS between 120 and 130 bef bed, I will be between 95 and 110 in the a.m.
I agree you can't guess because an A1C takes into account your blood reading the entire day for 3 months. If you only test 4 or 5 times a day you're not getting a good picture. I think my bg cycles up and down throughout the day and over night. Un...

Honestly, I think the exercise of using blood glucose readings to predict an a1c or getting an a1c and then using a chart to see the average is more harmful than good. I read and post on a few diabetes boards and I have not once seen anyone post t...

I try not to play the guessing game for my A1C anymore ...always averaged too low and then I was really disappointed. Finger prick a lot and wear a continuous glucose monitoring system ( most of the time ) . So I wait patiently for the results .

You'll have to tell us what your A1c is. Bet it will be great!

Thanks so much...I don't have a lot that I've kept for myself. I've knitted quite a number of pedicure socks; but I don't have any pictured here. I've also knitted quite a few adult sweaters...my sister from DC visited me and she selected her own yarn...she says that her wrap-style sweater is the first and only one that has sleeves long enough--I took careful measurements for her custom-made design.

Look at your four-legged babies...how cute. I have one, too--a bichon frise named Zoe. I've knitted quite a few outfits for her. She loves her clothes because when she's really dressed up she knows that she's going somewhere. You definitely won't catch her out in the rainw/o her yellow slicker. Take care and do keep in touch.

Thanks Jackie, for your interest, congratulation on your learning as much as you can by visiting diabetes events. Have you thought of setting up a support group in your area? Start off by calling 5 DIABETICS ? The opening line you can use is "HAVING DIABETES IS A CHALLEGE, A BURDEN,, A TRANSFORMATION, AND A BLESSING. SO LET'S ACCEPT IT AS A GRACIOUS GIFT AND LET IT TEACH US TO LIVE OUR YEARS WELL AND BEING ROLE MODELS. Also could you call diabetics in your area and ask them to join with me, in silence, and give THANKS for INSULIN giving hundreds of millions of US a chance to live healthy lifestyle TODAY. On that day JULY 30 INSULIN APPRECIATION DAY, AMIGOS will be selling BLUE ROSES to support www.restorethebantinghomestead.com we used this flower because of its meaning, 'ATTAINING THE IMPOSSIBLE' AMIGOKIT, Keep In Touch clarence.haynes@sympatico.ca

Hi Jackie, I saw your post to the PNW forum. I understand the depression/anxiety issue and just wanted to send you some encouragement and good wishes. I go for my 2nd A1c in 2 months and am working hard for it to be lower and I know I'll be disappointed if it isn't. Hang in there. I was reminded today by a friend at work that it is a day at a time.

I forgot to add that I hope you get good news when you get your A1c. Do let me know whatever the result might be!

Jackie,

There are several reasons I can't put my books on Kindle. One is that it doesn't support formatted pages so all the graphs and pictures float around the page and it comes out looking wonky. The other is that Amazon demands a huge royalty--far more than it gets when I sell a printed book. Almost all the money from the sale of a kindle book goes to Amazon. As a small publisher, I see this as very dangerous to publishing as a whole, so i will not go along with it.

I will see if I can convert the book to mobipocket format successfully, in the future, and if that is possible, I may sell it myself as a mobipocket download. I believe Kindle can read those.
