I use 1-hand IV 3000 6 x 7 cm or 2 3/8 by 2 3/4 You put it along side the transmitter, at each end of the transmitter, or both. It increases the area of adhesive. -Lloyd

Jess,
Saw your comment on the Navigator group. This is the only Navigator video we currently have about it on the site:

I look forward to Melissa doing her video. She's great!

Hi, Jess! How are you doing? If you ever want to meet up and I can show you what it's like to be hooked up to both, it'd be no trouble. I have been wearing the Nav since November and the Pod since May. I wear my Nav sensors on the back of my arms exclusively and the pods everywhere else (belly, abdomen, butt, back, etc). I don't think I've been off the Nav more than 24 hours since I started it. It's accurate most of the time within a few points, unless I'm moving quickly in one direction or another, but the rep explained to think of the tip of the arrow as where you are - not the digits. (So if I see a down arrow, I'm already at least 20 points below the reading, so to speak.) I have very few complaints. I like the graphs, the menus, the stats, the alarms, the range, the comfort, the accuracy, the strip port, the gel sleeve, the insertion device. I don't like the tape that much (peels up on my arms by day 5 and I have to add extra strips of tape to the edges often). And I don't like that my transmitter battery needs to be changed 2 out of every 3 times I change a sensor. Stock up on 357s! *laughs* I've had great experience with their customer service, too.

My pics are from Yosemite. I hiked all over the park. Hard to take a bad pic there.

Aw, thanks for liking my drawings. I don't like them, but those are the couple of them that I have, that I like. Ah, Dallas. So big... Scary to me! I don't live in Austin, more like outside of it. The CGM? I was on the Dexcom when it was still new to the market, decided I didn't like it, and went on my merry way. Then I got the Minimed a few months ago when my pump warranty ran out. It's great and I love it. The only days I don't wear it is on those "time of the month" days, and wacko BG days. I say go for it! It's pretty accurate enough, when I'm normally at say,70, the CGM would say 90 or around it. The important thing to remember is that it's focussing on a trend, not an actual number. So for me personally, I still test before meals, when I feel high, and when I'm low.

Finals week craziness

I know I don't blog much, but I had to get this out. So I start on the Omnipod on Friday... YAY.. but it's finals week and I have three days of testing left before I fly home on thurs afternoon. I went to change my current pump's infusion set/resevoir this morning and it starts shooting insulin everywhere and alerting. After searching on here for what A33 means I found out that there is nothing I can do and the pump is done for. I would call and get a replacement but I'm switching pump companies… Continue

UGH

So I have a bad infusion site tonight. I went to a movie and wasn't feeling great so I checked before hand, and lo and behold 400! Geez haven't had a high blood sugar like this in a long while and I feel like crud. So I corrected hoping it was something I ate, but after the movie still not feeling well so I re-check. AND 485 no decrease at all! I'm bout to take a shot and change my site, but I'm so frustrated right now. Every now and then these sites just go bad, and there seems to be nothing to… Continue

Hmm

So I've never kept a blog before, but I guess I can try. So I have seen a diabetic educator this summer to get my pump settings more finely tuned. And so far it has worked greatly. My bs has improved very well. It wasn't horrible before, but I feel I'm getting a lower A1c this next appt. But one thing that has happened is that I'm going low more. Today was kinda an up and down day. I've been sick with sinuses or some cold and my sugar was high a couple of hours before lunch so I corrected. Then… Continue
