Hi Linda!
So I see well just next day after the vitrectomy. But it was the second operation one year ago. How fast do you started to see well is very individual and it depends on the condition of your eye. My first vitrectomy (2002) was very difficult because my retina was detached and I hadn’t laser therapy. So I started seeing well one week after it. And I lost my vision again two months after it. Any way now is aright. My second vitrectomy was easier. My right eye had full laser therapy and the retina was good and I had only very huge blood flow.
I hope that everything will be aright with your eye.
I ‘ve been waiting for news.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi Linda!
I hope that every thing will be aright with your eyes. I don’t know how is your vision now, but I hope that much better than my was. Before vitrectomy I had seen almost nothing and my mum had led me, next day after it I saw almost normal. Of course I afraid abut my future but one year after an operation every thing is aright. As I wrote on group now I see ten rows:). Good luck and I ‘ve been waiting for news;)

Thanks for the welcome Lynda! It's nice to hear from someone so close, and I also graduated from Sac State. My husband has had type 1 diabetes for over 25 years. We're very active in the diabetes community in Sacramento, but it's great to find this larger community.

Take care,

You should do something special like climb that peak in Yosemite to mark your entry into the quarter century club. Until I started working for JDRF I'd never really even considered my diabetic anniversary. This February while I was in DC lobbying members of Congress for diabetes research funding I celebrated my 25th year w/ type 1. I told all the members of congress that their anniversary present to me could be to ensure that the funding for the Special Diabetes Program was renewed. Lets hope they keep their promises...
