yea doctor put me on Rx D, once weekly and I take a boatload of generic B12 (2000's) from CVS. I get a new blood panel in about 3 weeks and I'll report back if it's working! low b12 seems scary to me, too many nerve ending complications so I got r...

hey Revvy, nothing more to add 'cept 7.3% low D, low B12.... me too exactly. You are not alone!
3 times a day? How about 8-10? :-) I think you'll be amazed by the CGM experience. It reveals a lot about how your body reacts to timing of boluses, meal size and content, etc. The only downside is that it would be better to get several sessions ...

Well hello there tudiabetes bloggers and random googlers, sooo life has been interesting lately. Guess what, my A1c went up. :( 7.3 and i have dangerously low B12 and vitamin D levels. fun fun. So since my pump has not been doing wonders for me (...
What a great post. For many years, I was really "hush hush" about my diabetes. That ultimately led to my coworkers whispering, "Why is Jim drenched in sweat and mumbling to the fax machine???" So...I really think openness is best. The more people...

About me...

My life is a constant irrational display of irony and hypocrisy, wrapped up in a neat little anachronistic bundle. Yay!

okay, so Ive been diabetic type1 for about 6 years, and I've been dealing with it...switched insulin types a bunch of times, and I just started using the pump last august! Its good at times, bad at others....had a few "no delivery's" here and there.....but over all its made life alot easier. no more 6 shots a day or sneaking of into the bathroom to whip out a syringe.

but anyways!

Now a little about me! My bangs are blue. Yep, blue, I'm a provocative- extrovert with a introspective side and a tendency to dance in random places. Music is everything to me and probably the purest savior one can have besides the aesthetic pleasures of the world. I DJ my very own radio show " the EPIC show" --its metal/hardcore/the-good-stuff-yo-momma-never-let-you-hear![Thursdays 11pm-1am, streaming on WFNP.org] Music and art have helped me get through a lot of the stress, anxiety, etc that diabetes has given me.

Oh an did i mention im an artist? i absolutely am enamored with art. I paint, draw, and create tshirts(mostly for bands).

:)

Yes, I had a month where my pods just sucked, I blame it on a box of bad pods. Other than that Its been great. the occasional failure/occlussion will never make me change to a different pump...

haha the questions are always welcome :) in regard to making it by without insurance it's really difficult, I've just succeeded in getting a year's worth of lantus from sanofi-aventis and am in the process of scoring some humalog from eli lilly, my doc has been my primary care physician since i was about 13 so he does some creative paperwork to get my office visits and labwork taken care of ;) i'm not sure how legal that is but he's a friend of my mom's so that helps, basically i go to school full-time and have 2 part-time jobs to cover supplies, i tend not to eat much haha :)
as for the drinking, everyone's body is different, what i do is back off a bit on my bolus shots to account for the alcohol's bg-lowering effect, about the same as i do for a 90 minute-120 minute intense workout. but it may be different for you, i'd suggest experimenting slowly and making sure you carry some sort of glucose with you all the time that you are drinking :)

Its really tough to find a job over here, especially at my age, cause i'm not even legally allowed to have one yet ahah.
I'm trying to enjoy summer too, and i'm succeeding so far lol.
What kinda job are you looking for?

oh yeah! about the pump, i usually just clip it in the center of my bra, or like you know those shirts with the big sleaves? i'll clip it on the band of my bra under my arm, and if you have a loose shirt on its hardly noticeable. *sigh* sadly i've refrained from buying tight shirts anymore hahah

HAHAHA i tried to teach myself Finnish once too but it was like..... epic fail. I'm actually in Norway right now on vacation and i'm starting to wish i learnt a bit of Norwegian before i went... because trying to get directions and ask for stuff here is like.... huh? myself and my boyfriend are going to see some underground Norweigan death metal bands playing while we're here, alot of people seem to be hardcore into metal over here its pretty funny hahah.
but I really want to visit Finland before I come back to Canada though, that would be amazing. I heard it's a very beautiful country, cold! but beautiful
