My work on the Diabetes Hands Foundations
Hello, I am Andreina Davila, I am the Director of Operations and Experience, co-founder of the Diabetes Hands Foundation, under which this community runs. I also happen to be Manny's wife. Together with our board members, Landileigh, and our great group of volunteers we run this community.
If you have any questions, ideas, comments or concerns about the community please do not hesitate on contacting me. I am always looking for better ways to connect our initiatives with your needs as members of this community. (our members)
A little bit more about my work on DHF: As an officer and staff member and I am in charge of overseeing the design for our online communities (TuDiabetes.com and EsTuDiabetes.com), developing and implementing branding strategies including web design, logo design, marketing and advertising collateral, printed promotional materials and retail merchandise products. (yes, we are working on this) I am also in charge of developing and implementing our awareness initiatives unit, (word in your hand, drawing diabetes, newsletter, etc) involving the community by means of art and/or design projects. Manuel (Manny) and I work together on fundraising, general operations and administrative tasks.
Separate from this, I am artist, owner of Evolve Art Studio. I am from Venezuela, went to College there for Architecture, and in 2003 graduated from a MSD on Interior Design (ASU, AZ). Currently, I live with my husband and son in the Bay Area, CA.

bye, bye books
Today I am deep-cleaning my studio, our studio… not my art studio, but the one with the computer and books.
I decided to go over my books and select the ones I don’t really use anymore… I have done this so many times in the past, usually I find an excuse to keep most of them.

grieving
my grandma died this morning. I feel so sad, so isolated... I have the strangest sensation that I could just evaporate if I tried(or knew how) , and "fly" from here: in front of a computer and $ 2000 and 1 later day away to her service in Merida, my home city in Venezuela.

How come I discovered you so late,I told all my friends about the great design of the site,it is so artistic and romantic,to discover you as the real beauty behind it.I have ideas causing headache to Manny till he give up and let me go on to do it, a poetry book with photos all contributed by members,with the logo of hand foundation on it,sold in book stores and on online gift shop.

Estoy apollando, con la ayuda de Lifescan, el campamento de ninos con diabetes donde vamos utilizar TuDiabetes.com para poner fotos de las manos de los ninos despues que pinten sus manos. Ellos estan muy emocionados por este projecto. Gracias por todo que estan haciendo y siempre estare hablando y promoviendo el site "Tudiabetes.com" y "estudiabetes.com" con mis medicos y educadores.
