As a pediatric endocrinologist I was very happy to join this wonderful group,I learn many things about diabetes care, health care system in different countries, awareness campaigns, political issues that concern diabetes allover the world and most imoprtant to get to know people from everywhere.
Diabetes is uniting us and bringing down any false barriers that can come between us.
The wonderful thing also on this site is Art! Recently all of a sudden I became a poet, publishing my first book last year, and two are under publication, beautiful photos and attitude can send me writing, and forgive my english,I write in Arabic, but also in english.
Many thanks to Manny who started this family, and thanks to all of you.

Oh, it's soooooo good to hear from you again. It's been too long, for sure!

My birthday is coming up on the 24th, and I'm busy daydreaming of what the perfect gift would be. I KNOW! I want out of here!!!!

I sure hope you're right about my spirit holding me up. I feel like I'm going to crumble down in a pile of dirty clothes and wilt away. I just question my ability to put up with much more. I'm teetering on the edge and need all the prayers I can get to keep me all glued together!

Well, I've ignored the internet for over a week and now must pay the price of answering a lot of messages. Please come back soon.

Love you!

Lois

Hi Sohair, how's your week? Mine is good. Knowing the root cause of my problem helps. I've started on vitamin B complex. It is helping. Take care now. Please keep in touch.

I'm finally back on-line. Don't know why I haven't been able to get into things for three weeks, but they just as suddenly started up again this evening! YEAH!!!!

It's been really tough for me realizing that I won't be home in time for my birthday to say nothing about Christmas! (boo hoo!) I had a grand old crying jag of a pity party for myself this afternoon while we were talking in Occupational Therapy. Boy what a bummer I am .... brought the whole room down on that one. Then my next-door neighbor [in this nuthouse] started teasing me to get me laughing and the pity party ended just as fast as it started.

I am getting what is called derma grafts. That is, they take a sheet of frozen cells from the leftover skin of a baby boy's circumcision and reconstitute them and apply the sheet to my feet. Cover it up where the nurses can't screw it up. It is repeated once per week for eight weeks. There has been some signs of new cell growth around the edges.

This place sucks big time!! Yucky (mild expletive!), lazy CNA's, stupid nurses (only some) and even weirder residents. I can spend an hour just sitting and waiting for someone to answer my call button. Sometimes I'm on the commode for that time. Talk about getting numb buns!!!!! Arrrrrrgh!

Well, better move on to bigger and better things!! Many more messages to answer and/or delete! Talk to you soon ..... I hope!

Hi Sohair, no, I'm not going to use HRT. Like you say, go the natural way. You may want to read for yourself why coffee raises blood glucose. Just google MyDiabetesCentral.com - Glycemic coffee. Caffeine increases insulin resistance temporarily in diabetics. In normal people, they can produce extra insulin to overcome this.

the flowers as usual are wonderful sohair. i'm still around, just not on TuD as much as i was. i can be found on facebook when i'm not on here. i found a lot of my long lost family on there. it's been fun catching up with them. plus there are some games that i seem to have become addicted to. lol. it helped when i was recovering from the wrist surgery. the wrist is doing really good now that it has gotten over the trauma of my granddaughter popping it open later in the day that i had the stitches out. she came down on it with her little hard forehead, twice. blood all over the place, but it is healed now. still sore though.
how are you doing? have you been able to shake the depression that has been your constant companion? while i may not have been on here as much, everyone has been in my thoughts all the time. i was thrilled to see that doris is back among us. i don't know how much she knows about sandy being gone from us but i will be talking to her soon. she sent me her phone number and we will talk as soon as her vacation is over with. i know sandy would be proud of how well i have been doing lately. i have lost around 60 pounds. i have about that much more to go. it might take longer now that winter is setting in but i will do my best. take care sweet lady, and thanks again for the lovely flowers and birthday wishes.

Hi Sohair, thanks for the coffee. I love coffee but read that it isn't good for bg. Ah, what is life without small pleasures. It's great talking to everyone. I was thinking about all the comments when I suddenly realised that I am going thru menopause. I have never been this depressed for the past 15 years with diabetes. This is the weepy kind that I had never experienced. Now that I know the root cause, I know how to deal with it. Thank you for being there

Sohair, I'd love to know more about the picture you just sent me. The girl is very beautiful! I can't tell if it is a photo or a painting.

I just got back from the dermatologist about my hand. It is a type of eczema now. They did a biopsy last week (ouch!) and it showed I have plasma cells. I had to get a blood test too, and I am confused. I looked up the test I had done, called a RPR, and it has something to do with syphyllis! what??? the doctor said don't worry about it, that he is required to order the test.

I see you are doing your good works here, helping us in your own special way. here is no one quite like you Sohair. Keep us informed on what you are doing, and what are your plans for World Diabetes Day?

Hi Sohair,
Halloween has come and gone. I got to dress up for work (any excuse not to wear my uniform), but stayed away from candy. We joke out here that the day after is Jewish halloween since all the candy goes half price. How do they celebrate Halloween there? This was really a Druid holiday so the church's call it a Harvest Festival so they can participate and keep their hands clean. Gay people love Halloween (any reason to dress up) since we love any reason to have a party. I spent a quiet evening at home after work on the computer. I'm not much of a party person.
My friends took me out for my birthday and we had a great time in downtown Las Vegas. They had live bands on the street for Halloween. We had a good dinner (tapas-appetizers) then walked all over checking out the tourists. I had fun and got to be with people I care about and who return the favor. They are having me over for dinner the day after Thanksgiving when everyone will be able to get together.
Well, I ramble on. Have a good day. I am always thinking of you.
Mike

There, there, there
Somewhere there
Where there is nothing
And from nothing
Erupt
All

There you can plant meanings
New words
New feelings
And
You never can hide it
From
All

The tears will run hot
And
Cold
But they are real
Not false
The songs will be whispered
Or shouted loud
No difference
Because there,
In the land of nowhere
From nothing
I will erupt
For once
And
All
