Happy World Diabetes Day to EVERYBODY!!!

First thing I did today was run for the Google home page. They didn't do it... they didn't do a Diabetes Doodle. I was disappointed... but only for 5 seconds... It's OK: we will get it to happen next year!

Here are some great news:
* Healthline.com, one of the premier health sites on the web, has dedicated a big chunk of their home page to World Diabetes Day:

* I then turned to the World Diabetes Day web site, to learn that ALMOST 1,000 buildings and monuments worldwide will be lit up in blue today!! (if you happen to be in the Bay Area, come join us for the lighting of San Francisco's City Hall in blue @ 5 pm PT today).

* I read what some of our members are doing today for World Diabetes Day. You can wear blue or light up your house in blue: it's not too late. IF YOU WEAR BLUE, TAKE A PHOTO AND UPLOAD IT TO TUDIABETES. See what other members have done.

* Finally, thanks to Glucoholic, I learned about a very funny LOLcat that looks every bit like Wilford Brimley: HAPPY DIABEETUS DAY TO EVERYBODY!!!!

Comment by sugarrbabie on November 14, 2008 at 7:42am: I made a shirt with the WDD logo on it and I'm going to take a picture wearing the blue shirt I got =) I also posted a bulletin on myspace about tudiabetes and the info and such, so hopefully someone will be touched by this site as much as I have! Happy WDD!
