Hey Robin! I live in Jacob's Woods. You're right, I've never found anyone from Troutman on here either. Great to see that you live so close! Who knows, maybe we'll do lunch one day.

Take Care,
sarah

Why thank you, I try to keep positive.

You know I am on a mission of sorts,. I have 6 younger brothers and sisters and my parents happen to live in the middle east. My mother has been battling breast cancer for a very long time, it has basically spread everywhere so she is only receiving palliative care. I am here where I need to be, alongside my mother and little siblings doing everything I can to help and make the moments count. I can't think of anything more fitting.

Oh yes, we currently have a cat and a cockatiel. they don't seem like a good mix, but the birdie scares our big dumb cat. it's pretty funny. We've also had an assortment of fish, other birds, turtles... etc.

I am also thankful. When I was finally diagnosed I was so relieved to finally know what was wrong and glad that I could learn what to do to actually feel better.
It's nice to be able to come to this site and chat/ask questions and learn from people going through the same thing....and understand the struggle to find a good balance. that's helped me immensely.

Hi! I'm glad I joined too. This is pretty cool.

I've had diabetes for almost eleven years now, which is almost my whole life. I'm off by 4 years :]

And yes, I've had a minimed for about 5 years now. I started off with disentronic, but once we found out about the bolus wizard, my doctor recommended it and my uncle decided to give me my birthday present for the rest of my life... :] And actually, I am able to get the CGMS, but my doctor doesn't recommend me getting it for the fact that my blood sugars are so crazy. Which is true, I guess, but I at least want to have a trial run or something along those lines. Just to test it out. I guess doctor knows best :) I have a question for you, and do not take this the wrong way, but was it hard maintaining your diabetes with the slow development of pumps and things to help take care of your diabetes? I'm just curious.
