I was four when I was diagnosed too! and I use a minimed paradigm pump - so we've got that in common.

Totally got your "glad to have diabetes" points. Too bad Sara doesn't have the sense of humor to appreciate the subtle points.
If we can't laugh at our "fate", why do we try so hard to deal with it?

C. - Howdy, Your Glad to have Diabetes had/has me cracking up. In all seriousness, I am happy to have been diagnosed. Sure if someone was to offer me a functioning pancreas today I would not turn him or her down. Yet I know someone that has stated, "Why Me!?" regarding her diabetes and simply cannot relate. I can barely remember not being a diabetic. Having "The Big D" has given me a perspective of life that the "nons" cannot comepletley relate to.
By the way... I know a dermatologist, if you want to have that large lump removed from your left shoulder.
