Hey Cleo,

I'll send you the pdf, as well as links I have to some GREAT research from Dr. John Wahren (Karolinska, Sweden) and Dr. Anders Sima (Wayne State, Michigan). It's AMAZING that C-peptide has been **ignored** for this long (especially) considering it's role in preventing complications of T1DM. Am I on a warpath? You bet! Winning this battle means C-peptide for those of us who need it.

Thanks for the offer, Cleo. I have Whole Foods right near me so I think I'll check out the tea first. I'll let you know if I can get it going.

Hi Cleo - Happy Thanksgiving.
Where did you get your starter piece from? I remember when I had mine growing in a big bowl I'd gotten it from a friend - don't they sprout off little ones?

Hey Cleo,

Thanks for brining up my C-peptide beef (no pun intended) LOL - and if you guys want any discussion from the PhDs who've been researching the benefits to Type 1s -- I can arrange to have them answer any questions!!

Best always,
Allie

Oh my goodness - that is just a hoot 'n' a half. Last night as I was drifting off to sleep I thought, "omg, what if I was way off on the kombuchu and Cleo thinks I'm totally nuts"?
I think it was supposed to have some tonic properties and make your blooc more alkaline.
I remember the mushroom (or whatever) portion looking very weird, like it was from another planet.
There is a vegetarian group here at TD, but no kombuchi group.

Thanks for the comment back, Cleo. Are you actually talking about the kombuchu mushroom that was popular about 20 years ago? It was sort of rubbery and you drained off the liquid that kind of tasted like fermented apple cider? I remember somebody gave me a little piece to "cultivate" but it was just a passing fancy. If this is what I'm thinking of, let me know, as I'd be interested in knowing what it does for you.
And yes, I can understand why being on insulin would certainly expand the foods available to you.
