A little about me
I had the privilege of being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the glorious age of 14. Awkward Jr.High-going-into-high school girl. I started out on NPH and Humalog, shortly after my doctor suggested going on Lantus and 4 shots a day, and did that for several years. Through those several years I was in and out of the hospital for more times than should be allowed a young girl. Eating disordered and sick. Through the insanity I met my darling Husband, he was SO key in getting me through it all, he encouraged me to get on my insulin pump and to strive for over all healthiness. Now, we've been happily married for nearly a year, 1 year on June 29th. :D
So, now, I am just recently doing my best to strive for health. I have not taken care of my diabetes for the last year and a half, once again, at all. I go back and forth with control - but finally have the resolve to actually do better. To be healthy and keep it that way as best as possible.
I hope for a child or two one day, and want to be healthy for them, and most of all my wonderful Husband.

So, get out there, educate those around you about type 1 diabetes. Why you do what you have to do, and why it is important and different than Type 2 Diabetes.

Wanted to welcome you to Tudiabetes! A great place because of it's great pwople. there is allot of information, support and friendship here. I'm glad you found us! :o)
I am not on the Animas pump, but have been pumping withthe minimed 722 since June of 2007. It is a challange but has given me a bit more tighter control.
