Take care,

I see you're relatively new to all of this. How are you dealing with it?
I was also 17 (just a few days after my 17th b-day) when I was diagnosed. If you have any questions or anything at all, I'm here to help.
Wanted to stop by and welcome you to Tudiabetes. it is a great place beause of it's great people. :o)

Robert
When I was newly diagnosed, I printed up a bunch of business cards. You can do that too. You can get a template off the web, or make it up yourself (I suggest making it up yourself) and put things on there such as: the information you want them to know but don't want to have to repeat, and how you want them to support you (do or don't ask questions, what questions to ask or not ask).
Sometimes if a particular person is getting me upset, I write hir a letter saying that diabetes is a sensitive topic or whatever (blame yourself to avoid getting them mad) and asking them to say something else instead of whatever they've been saying.
Instead of asking me if I'm hypo when she's wondering about something I'm doing, she could ask me why I'm doing whatever I'm doing.
Are you getting much support from your family, friends, school?
