I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes almost three years ago. As I left the doctor's office that day, I am ashamed to say, my mind was not on the possible damage I might have already done to vital organs. I was not thinking about the blurred vision I had been ignoring for months. I didn't even give too much thought to taking medication of some sort for the rest of my life. I sat in the car and my only thought was "I'll never eat anything I enjoy again."

Thankfully, in the time since my initial diagnosis I have seen the truth - that there are options. They might not be advertised in neon lights as you enter your local grocery or restaurant, but they're out there. A few months ago I decided to try to create a place where people who felt like I did could come and find those options and have one less thing to worry about.

That place is glucoholic.com. Glucoholic is a review site where we review all kinds of low carb and sugar free snacks, foods, and drinks. landileigh was very kind and mentioned that links to our past reviews might be a help to those in the Tu Diabetes community, so here are some of our favorites!

Battle of the Fuze Slenderize Flavors

Check out our Battle of the Fuze Slenderize Flavors! I've gotten to the place that I love so many of the drinks that I've reviewed that I'm going to need a government bail out for my fridge! It just can't hold what I want to buy every week.

Two tributes and two great discoveries!

I don't think I could do a personal blog post today without paying tribute to all those that lost lives or loved ones on this date in 2001. Truly a date which will live in infamy, we probably all remember what we were doing when news of this tragedy reached our ears. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those still impacted today, and in the future. Also, prayers and best hopes for safety for those about to be impacted by the hurricane in the gulf. Now to some good news for the week. First, I… Continue

Hey, The Glucoholic...I am in love. Will you marry me? Actually, I am already taken....sucks for you, I know, but just wanted to say I am a tad smitten. I just went back and reviewed your past blogs on low carb foods. How badly is this info needed?!?!? I am going to the Cracker Barrell ASAP to look for Diet Root Beer! Which brings me to my other exciting connection. I moved a year ago from Greensboro....loved the Triad area. We lived there 7 years and met so many nice people....I'd go back tomorrow if someone would please offer my husband a job there!

Anyway...thanks for the information and the entertainment. I enjoy your writing and look forward to more reviews. Thanks.
