No so bulletproof anymore

I almost died a few weeks ago.

Yep. This bulletproof 38-year-old husband and father of three just about kicked the bucket.

I didn't see the flash of light.

I didn't see my grandparents or other friends and family waving me to come join them.

I didn't even see myself lying on the bed in the ER or the ICU writhing with pain.

But I almost died.

I've had diabetes for 23 years now. Diagnosed with Type I (which used to be called Juvenile Diabetes)… Continue

Hi Andy,
yes our situations are very similar. I too "fell off the wagon"
checked sugar when i felt bad but aside from that I just followed the prescribed 40u lantus in the am and novolog when I ate.
I was just to busy for Diabetes... Job, Kids etc. Then we moved to Pittsburgh PA. a new town... a new start... and I had an epiphany how about being around for a while to enjoy it.

I went to the Joslin diabetes center and the optometrist. I need glasses my A1c is 8.6 and I need a better way of dealing with my insulin therapy. So along comes the Omni Pod pump. I have been on it for approx two weeks and love it!!! No tubing no insertion sets wow this is convenient! I would love to talk to you about any questions you might have! you can get me back here or email me at Neverbeenbetter@mac.com

Best of luck Brother !

Welcome, Andy.
Your family website is just lovely!
I have a niece that came to us from China 3 years ago (she is now 4) and that dear sweet little girl opened all of our hearts with one look. (There is a picture of her on my page.)
