There has not been any pattern during communication errors other than all have been in the winter so it could be static electricity due to the dry air.
I always install a new pod when I suspect the canula came out. You can always use the syringe to suck out the insulin and put in a new pod. I think you have to de-activate the pod before you do this though.
There is no manual prime it is automatic and done before you attach the pump.
My experience is closer to the 10% error. That does include the pod sometimes shutting down during the priming process (3 times for me) and communication errors between the pod and the PDM 4 times). The other errors are when the canula has pulled out of the skin, which could be due to bumping the pod. I now use a skin prep for the adhesive and put a strip of tape over the top part of the pod. The combination of these things have greatly decreased my problems. The good thing is that Omnipod has always replaced Pods.
I have never had Omnipod refuse to replace a pod for any reason. Without exception they have replaced my Pods no questions asked. I am sure that even if you are not using Omnipod you can call their customer support and confirm this.
Omnipod is probably not for everyone. There are more Pod errors than with other pumps which frustrates some people. For me the occasional hassle is well worth the convenience and comfort of wearing a Pod
Also their customer service is soo much better than Metronics.

Hi Bruce, I'm new to this site and don't understand your question. I'm not a member of the Children with Diabetes and don't know those users you refered to so I don't think I'm able to help you.
I don't remember what the max bolus setting (I have the user manual at my office) but I have mine set to 10 units.
I have never had a pod malfunction upon filling. After you full the pod with insulin it will give a soft beep when you withdraw the filling needle. I did have one pod fail on priming.
I have never had a non delivery or inclusion and I think it is less likely to happen than with a traditional pump because the tubing is not exposed.
I did have a couple of PDM errors both times after a couple of days usage. When this happened the pod shut down I was told that if the pod and the pdm do not communicate properly than the pdm shuts off the pod for safety reasons.
I also use a skin prep and have never had an issue with the pod falling off. I sometimes wear the pod on my arms and did once dislodge a pod when I bumped into a door frame (user error) omnipod replaced that pod also.
