Riley got his first dose of Lantus about 2 hours after he was diagnosed. He did OK on it except no matter what we did he seemed to always go low in the middle of the night. The switch to the pump was a little daunting at first, but after a few weeks we had the kinks worked out and I just love, love, love it now. I can't imagine our lives without it. We saw the endo in December and told her we wanted a pump. We took a pumping class in January and on March 3rd (2006) he started on the pump. It took about 3 months from saying we wanted the pump to actually starting on the pump.
I got diabetes when I was 8. I have had it for 50 years and am doing just fine. You look just like my daughter Miranda when she was your age. She is now almost 17.
Hi Maggie!!
It's nice to meet you, I'm glad you found us. How is pre-school? Do you like your teacher? I hope so. I am here because my little boy has type 1 diabetes, just like you. I will have him add you to his friends list, ok?
