Hi Erik,

I was wondering if anyone at JDRF is willing to help out with training the school staff at Albany Middle School. I am told they have 4 Type 1 diabetics this year and they have asked me to come and do a training on 9/24 at about 2:30 - 3:00 p.m.

I hope all is well with you.

Sincerely,
Angela

Hi, I saw where you mentioned that the pump was the size of a laptop in the early 90"s...I went on it in 1983...it was called the "blue brick". It was a minimed pump.....They have come a long way haven't they? Which pump are you going with. After 24 years I have been very pleased with Minimed. But, there are so many different ones avail these days. I think Minimed was about it back in the day! You said you were getting it at the end of July....you won't regret it. The freedom is great with a pump. I couldn't imagine shooting again. Pumps are so common now. There are actually 4 people where I work on the pump...and we all have Minimed.

They are great reasons and all the things I struggled with after shooting up for 36 years and now pumping for 5.

It is surely not perfect, and with intimate moments you disconnect, but yes it does annoy me still that the site is still there, but ahhh well. I think it might be easier for a guy with the looks of it, just my take.

Size of a laptop, laughing.

It certainly is not a cure and diabetes still sucks, but I always thought taking out a vial and syringe was much more noticeable.

Good luck to you with your trial run. :)

Ooooo my last A1C was 6.3, not sure I could achieve that via shots
