I finally got a BG reading under 100!! 97 to be exact!! I was so happy when I saw that number come up on my monitor! Now maybe all my numbers will be good and I won't have to go on Actos!

My appointment today went pretty well. She was happy with how my numbers were going down and she added another pill to my evening dose to help with the morning highs I have.
She mentioned maybe adding
Actos at my next appointment in a month. I came home and read about
Actos and I'm not sure I want to be on that. I have high blood pressure and have had irregular heartbeats (PVCs) and with the black box warning I'm not sure if I want to take
Actos. I'll have to discus…

I got my pink UltraMini in the mail today. I really like it. Easy to use and very nice. I also love the lancets and the device as it doesn't hurt nearly as much as the other one I was using.
So yay for nice new meters!

I finally got a morning reading under 200 this morning. 184 to be exact! And according to SugarStats.com my BG has went down 12% so I'm getting there!
I have a follow-up appointment with my Dr. on Monday so I guess I'll see what she has to say then.
I'm looking forward to my appointment with that dietician on the 30th. Hopefully I'll get a better handle on what to eat then.

I'm trying to read all I can about type 2 but I keep getting conflicting information. Eat carbs, don't eat carbs, don't eat fruit, eat fruit...It's all very confusing!
My numbers have showed improvement, but not the kind of improvement I was hoping for. I've got to go to the dr. on Friday for a follow-up so hopefully we can work something out then.
And I don't understand. My dad is a type 2 and he can eat anything he wants and still have great numbers and A1Cs un… Continue

It take time. Diet and Exercise are extremely important for control. Moderate your carbs. Not necessarily low. A dietician should be able to tell you how many carbs per meal. And exercise daily. I read an article where exercise alone has a great deal of inflluence on control of blood glucose levels. Ask your Dr. what would be a good plan for exercise. Belileve me, from experience I have been able to control my
diabetes by Diet and Exercise alone. Remember:
"Either you control diatetes or it controls you"

I'm glad you are concerned about your high BG. You should be. In three years of having high BG, I developed enough plaque in my arteries that lead to a heart attack.
Take care of your BG, get it lowered. Believe me, the alternative is not pleasant.
Not a day goes by that I dont wish I took care of my BG.
Best of luck and please let me know if there is anything I can do. :)
