I am from Sussex and I am trying to get on the pump.
I just spotted your post after leaving a very similar one myself. I was wondering which hospital gave you funding? My hospital is St Georges and they applied to my PCT (Croydon) last November but I am still waiting to hear back. I really would love a pump and cgm. My diabetes nurse said if I were to get funding it would be with Cozmo...Mini-med looks better to me but I'm not going to be fussy if I get funding. I figured out there would be no way I would get funding for cgm (my GP even hates prescribing blood sticks!)
Would love to hear how you are supported in the UK- all pumpers/cgm ers seem to be American/Australian.
(PS I work in Wallington at Wilson's School!)
Been a few good but difernt months for me. fustrating most of it, btu at least not in the hospital!
Figured I woud say hello and for you not to be a stranger.
I wish you well.
Robert
It looks like I might be delaying the pump a little. My father tragically died of a heart attack on Saturday and we are absolutely devastated and I dont think I can take on board learning and coping with going on the pump right now. This is the worst thing that has ever happened in my life and has hit my family very bad. I will let you know what happens. I am glad you are doing ok. Keep well and will catch up soon. Verity
When I got my pump, I had to wait a month to go to the doctor (he was 8 hours away) to get th elast bit of training and set up for it! Always a hurry up and wait situation huh? :)
I am doing a little better, not in the hospital yet. I am hurting some times, and it is not fun. I just am not going back to the hospital unless I have problems breathing now with the pain. I have heard from a few people that hav had the extensive surgery like Ihave and some of them have said they have hurt between 1 and 5 years after the surgery, so I might have a while to think abou this stuff . ~Laughes~ Oh well, guess I can think fo rougher situations Ihave been in, just hard to compare, this stuff is just so demanding in perfomance. But so far so good and I hope that 2008 is a little differnt, I'm tired of bein gin the hospital and missing work.
Have a great and SAFE holliday season.
I wish you well.

I hope your doing well and the days are clicking down to the 16th fast enough. Have you compleated your on line training yet? :)
I just got out of the hospital again, been that way all this year. Not for DKA but for other diabetes related complications. It happens I guess. Next year has GOT to be better.
Keep us informed!
I wish you well.
Robert
