Scott- you can take Novolog at the same time as Lantus, if you want- makes no difference. Just don't mix them in the same syringe. If your numbers three hours after eating are high, there are three possibilities- you need a larger shot of Novolog to start with, you needed two shots for the meal (dual wave means the pumping version of two shots of Novolog), or it wasn't the fault of the food and your Lantus dose isn't high enough.
