No, it was not too much detail at all. I enjoyed the read. I don't think you had anything to do with what your son is experiencing. I think both of those are hereditary, diabetic or not. I work for the best allergist/immunologist~wish you were a little closer so your son could see him. Many of his patients are asthmatic and all sing his praises. As far as the acid reducer, I am on Protonix (and Reglan) for gastroparesis (neuropathy of the digestive system) and it is the best I've tried.
Thanks so much for the encouragement and advice! Talk to you soon. K
Hey Andrea, I see that you and I were dx about 2 months apart. I'm just wondering if you have kids and how that went. I want to but am afraid. Any advice?
Kristi
Hi Andrea! I'm glad that you liked Budapest! I fell in love here with the language, the lifestyle, and most importantly my husband! I came here after finishing college in the USA and have been here since... Which means 4 of my 5 years as a diabetic. As of this year, I am in the Hungarian national health care system-- so I will start getting my pump supplies here with a 90% discount from the state. Until now I have imported my supplies in suitcases :) Even insulin. But as I am really settling here now, I have figured out how to get everything here, which is a relief. It is cheaper (because all is state subsidized), but at least a few steps behind the US market (pumps just emerged- medtronic, animas, and disentronic) and no sign of CGMS yet. So there is good and bad in everything!
Andrea, here is giving you a warm and friendly welcome to TuDiabetes.com. This is a very neat site/blog that we all use to help and support each other. I hope to see you and your participation often. If I can be of any assistance please feel free to ask. Again, welcome aboard!!
hi Andrea, I was in Utah one summer. My buddie was vacationing and I scraped enough money together to spend a few weeks out there. LOVED the mountains. I was in Salt Lake for only a few days and then went up to Sun Valley Idaho. almost 2 weeks of hiking all those ski trails and a little rock climbing and I took a few lessons in a asmall airplane. Time of my life!!
Yes I was in Az., Sedona and the Grand Canyon with my lovely wife, Lisa on our honeymoon. We both really like the beautiful mountain ranges and we had a great time.... err.... excpet for the hot air baloon ride that ended in disaster and travesty! =)
