My journey with diabetes started in 2005 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. For me, my diabetes did not go away after I gave birth. I manage my diabetes with oral meds, diet and most importantly exercise. I have since learned to embrace me for exactly who I am. My life has constantly taught me to see who I truly am. I was born 2 months premature(now I see that this probably contributed to my getting diabetes), and was not alone. The doctors never knew that my Mom was pregnant with twins. My sis and I weighed 2 lbs 4 oz. We weren't expected to live. Prematurity also gave me a hearing deficit. I wear 2 hearing aids to help. My "disabilities" have never stopped me; they inspire me.I am fortunate to know exactly how strong I am. If one is never pushed, how would you ever know how much you can accomplish. I am thankful also for a family who has been supportive all the way. A big thanks to my husband, daughter, sister, and mother who have helped me be strong no matter what challenges. A bigger thanks to God for allowing these challenges to help show me exactly why I was created and what I am made of!!

How are you doing?
Good to hear from you!
I've been away for a while, been very busy trying to sort out my health.
Maybe I'm taking too much on and it feels a little overwhelming but I guess it takes a while to get into the habit of doing the right thing and changing ones lifestyle.
What seems to take up a lot of time is writing every single thing down.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Take care,
Loren
BTW, I deleted your comment on my page because I thought it would be best for your mailing address to not be there for everyone to see. ;)
Take care and let me know if you would want me to mail you some TuDiabetes cards that you could drop off at your endo's office. Just send me a message with your full name and address and I will put them in the mail next week.
