My journey with diabetes started in 2005 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. For me, my diabetes did not go away after I gave birth. I manage my diabetes with oral meds, diet and most importantly exercise. I have since learned to embrace me for exactly who I am. My life has constantly taught me to see who I truly am. I was born 2 months premature(now I see that this probably contributed to my getting diabetes), and was not alone. The doctors never knew that my Mom was pregnant with twins. My sis and I weighed 2 lbs 4 oz. We weren't expected to live. Prematurity also gave me a hearing deficit. I wear 2 hearing aids to help. My "disabilities" have never stopped me; they inspire me.I am fortunate to know exactly how strong I am. If one is never pushed, how would you ever know how much you can accomplish. I am thankful also for a family who has been supportive all the way. A big thanks to my husband, daughter, sister, and mother who have helped me be strong no matter what challenges. A bigger thanks to God for allowing these challenges to help show me exactly why I was created and what I am made of!!

Hi, Barbara! Thank you for the comment on my blog. School is wrapping up quickly - in fact, I'm graduating on Saturday! After that I just have to finish up some work with student teaching and then I'm DONE!
How are you doing?
Good to hear from you!

Hey there Barbara! How are you? I'm doing ok.
I've been away for a while, been very busy trying to sort out my health.
Maybe I'm taking too much on and it feels a little overwhelming but I guess it takes a while to get into the habit of doing the right thing and changing ones lifestyle.
What seems to take up a lot of time is writing every single thing down.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Take care,
Loren

Copied. Got your information. I will be mailing the cards over, next week.

BTW, I deleted your comment on my page because I thought it would be best for your mailing address to not be there for everyone to see. ;)

Thank you again, Barbara! Your comments are so uplifting and encouraging! Have a wonderful weekend with your family! My parents came down here last weekend (from Washington). You are a real inspiration for me. Your story is truly very amazing! It's been a pleasure meeting you. Perhaps some day we'll "really" meet! Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
