Yes, x 4 and a half years now. It was a day that I will never forget, and the emotion is still right there, just below the surface. Which is why I got involved in Dr Faustman's research, and also trying to help families of newly dx'd children. They need to know that they WILL make it thru it, and there is HOPE for the cure.

Laura---I started a discussion about self-loathing over at Diabetes and Women. Would be interested in a fellow feminist's take on the subject......Judith in Portland

I love hearing people's stories, Laura. On the level of our common humanity, Dance is a universal, after all. I'm sure your work as a psychologist is interwoven with your experience in dance. So much of one's emotional life is stored in the body......Judith

Such a small world, my dear. Where did you go to college and with whom did you study? I started out in the ballet with some grand old Ballet Russe types in Mpls and then switched to modern when I was exposed to the work of Mary Wigman.....Judith

Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad people aren't scared of the f-word (no, not *that* one!) around here. :-) I agree with Judith that we should start a feminist group. How about "feminist pumpers of the world unite"? Maybe we can get some men to join!

Laura---Just saw your comment over at Sara's. We may need to start a feminist group so we can find each other more easily!....I look forward to getting to know you. You are just my daughter's age.....
