I am 29 years old and have had type 1 for a grand total of.... 12 months. I love this community website because I have no idea what I am doing and I'm a little bit afraid of needles. Thanks to everyone who has offered me advice already - and a big thank you from my family and friends, who have no idea how to answer my questions.

The commercial on TV has a whole mob of lowbrowed cavemen grunting their way down a suburban street talking about "football" (soccer) and "birds" (chicks) and "Coke Zero". I wasn't convinced...

I was diagnosed at 28 too, after about a year (I kid you not) of ALL the symptoms. Eating ten jammy doughnuts a day and STILL losing weight, thought I was some kind of miracle boy. Late onset T1-ers all the way.

hi liz, thanks for the note! i hope you're having a good day today. maybe we should start a "late t1 diagnosis" crew. i was diagnosed at age 19 and when i tell people i have type one, they are always like "oooo, does that mean you've never eaten candy before?"

Hi Liz,
I live in Roslindale too. Maybe we will run into each other at the VIllage Market or Roche Bros.

Liz

Pumpers meeting was awesome. About 20 people at it. I'll have to blog later about the whole thing. I'll send you details later in the week after camping.
