Recommit. Again. For real. This time. One day at a time, girl.

Ok. My endo fussed at me a little on my last appointment.

"Katrina, you have to test more. I can't see any patterns."

Ok, doc, I got you. Will do. Asap.

So, for the past 3 days, I've tested no less than 8 times each day - running through my strips like water. I've written down every bolus and every carb that I've eaten. Except for the soup I had the other day - soup doesn't have enough carbs for me to count, as far as I'm concerned. Right? I mean, it was vegetable...…

7.8 - I'm on my way.

Ok. I saw my endo yesterday and to say that I am not filled with dread when I do this - well, that would be a complete lie. I think I have the best endo in the world - he actually talks to me and is encouraging and often, my doctor visits last about 30 minutes, when before, I was out in about 15 minutes or so with my other doctor. (Anyone in the Dallas area - Jonathan Leffert is the best endo in the world)!

But, I digress. I got my A1C done on Tuesday, the day before my appointment. My…

Panic is stalking me

Ok, some of you know that I have suffered consequences ( I meant to type complications, but consequences came out - hmm....) of my diabetes. I think I am finally beginning to panic.

I've had blood vessels in my eye rupture and ended up with the little "floaters" and "spots" in my eye. Floaters and spots - sounds so cute when in reality, this is BLOOD that is floating around in my line of vision.

Ok, so I had some laser s

Would You Give It Up?

I've heard this question numerious times. "If you could get rid of your diabetes, would you?"

I've dreamed of a day that I wouldn't have to take shots, test all day, not worry about what I eat or drink, not worry about complications. Hopefully, someday this will happen - I feel we are close and it's almost an unbearable wait.

And people say, diabetes does not define you - you have a disease - it does NOT have you - you all know the routine. But, as I ponder the "what ifs" of a l…

My First Blog

Honestly, when I log into my homepage, I get tired of that little message that says I haven't posted any blogs yet. So...now I have. :)

I will say this - I am soo glad that I found this site. I've never felt all alone in my diabetes, becasue I know there are thousands who live with this every day. However, I was caught up in my own little Type I world and I truly did not realize that we are in the minority when it comes to diagnosed cases.

Now, don't get me wrong, I lov…

Hey, Katrina! Saw your post about "insurance marriage." :) Good to know there are more of us out there! I'm a Type I since 1990 and in the Dallas area. I'm heartbroken to hear about your between-insurance crap you're dealing with at the moment. I wish you the best of luck.

I have a blog on blogspot. It's mostly just diabetic-friendly musings, poetry, and making fun of myself so far. Just started it when I joined tudiabetes. Nice to know you!

Hey chica, glad you stopped by and thanks for taking a look at the website again! Things are going so well right now...a little on the stressful side but going well. I'm heading to California this weekend for the Diabetes Expo, so I'm hoping to meet some of my wonderful customers and spread my product brand and ideas further.
And the mineral makeup I'm super excited about. It's just fabulous, it feels great, looks good on my skin and it's completely natural, and the best part for me is that it is pressed, simply fabulous! Let me know if you have any questions :) Hope to see you around!

Thanks for your Comment! I have been on the Minimed pump since 2005.... But I have been on an insulin pump since 2000. I had to change to a different company because the other 9 pumps I had quit on me without warning 9 times.....

Hey Trina,
I was just stopping by to say hello! I also wanted to let you know how inspirational you are to me. I can honestly say I have not been living like I have diabetes and you leading me to this site and you giving me a little advice here and there. You may know that I have been going through a lot in the past few months and I everything is just coming to a head. I have to say thank God for you and Eric's love because you guys really take care of me! I just wanted to tell you THANKS for always being there for me. I make this promise as I go forward that I will do better and get this thing under control! Love you
