Hi Olaf

I'm glad the KeyNote is working for you. I've been using one full-time as of a week or so ago. I'm also playing with their Presto meter, I need to review that.

We had a great picnic today. About 24 people, half of us with the big D. Maybe we'll get you to come over to MA for the one next year!

Hi Olaf,

Your outlook on life is inspiring. I'm happy for you that diabetes is more easily controlled now that you're retired. I was Pre-diabetic a little over a year ago. Now I'm normal, but my doctor still wrote me a prescription for a glucometer. That and the test strips are mainly covered by insurance but I do agree that at almost $1.00 per test strip, it's robbery. A lot of people don't have insurance to help cover it. Also, I'm afraid to lance myself even though the piercing is tiny. I don't know if I can do that to myself even once, never mind several times a day. Perhaps I'll get someone else to do that to me. Good luck with retirement. Sounds like you really know how to live life.

Hi Olaf

I'm like you, too cheap to pay for yet another Dexcom upgrade. But I can't wait to flip over to the new one when it arrives. I tested for about 2 weeks using both Dexcom receivers and saw a fairly profound difference in the averages reported. So I know that moving to the new one will improve my A1c.

Maybe I'll get lucky, my insurer Aetna has apparently relaxed their rules about CGM...a little.

I hope you like the Keynote. I think it's a great meter. For folks already using a FreeStyle, they miss the light that illuminates the test strip. Overall I can't see much wrong the with Keynote. Can you tell I'm a biased user?

Mind you I did get a test kit from Agamatrix so I can check out the new Presto meter. That was given to me free, but I've paid for all the Keynote stuff myself.

Hi Olaf. I'm going to start the comments on your Comment Wall!
You've got 30 years of db on me - I was dx'd in '74 and never ever dared to dream that I'd still be around today. But, here I am. It's a weird, but good feeling.
Congratulations on being a successful db veteran!!
