Want coverage for my CGM

I just recently received my Insulin pump. I am really excited to get started with it. So far I have been going through Medtronics Online Pump School so that I can be prepared for my pump training. I am very happy with my insurance and everything that they cover with my pump and supplies. Now, for those of you with pumps, you know one of the issues currently is the lack of support \ approval of insurance companies to cover CGMS. Unfortunately, I fall into this group as well. I decided to bite the… Continue

I use the "Comfort" infusion sets. But probably only because I'm a real "creature of habit" and that's what they started me on. I have heard great reviews of the Inset 30. I'm not sure if they have a Minimed compatible versions, but if they do I would try that! I'll add your blog to my blogroll now :) Look forward to following yours as well!

Hi Chris! I just read (and commented) on your blog post about the bad infusion set day... i was wondering what infusion set you are using and if you have tried out different ones.

I had this problem with QuickSet cannula bending when I inserted it. Though many people love the QuickSet, I have had better experience with the angled infusion sets.

Dear Chris, I apologize for the very tardy reply and I thank you for your kind welcome. My organization, the FAIR (Fair Allocations in Research) Foundation is working to reverse the unfairness in NIH bio-medical research allocations that now have $3,052 being spent on each HIV patient $39 on each diabetic. It is our goal to become large enough with over 100,000 members to be able to lobby effectively for fairer allocations and that is why we hope you will come and join FAIR—there is no charge to add your name to our database, which is private; it is never shared or sold. Indeed, we exhibit at ADA Expos where, on average, a 4 renal patient or their family member joins FAIR every 3 to 4 minutes for six hours, not only in support of our effort for fairer research allocations but also for new organ-donor policies. With 75,000 on the waiting list for a kidney today and 400,000+ more on dialysis but not even on the list, altruism alone is clearly not meeting the demand. Equally important is our desire that all members of tudiabetes.com, not only join FAIR, but urge the ADA, NKF, etc and other organizations to bring their members under our umbrella. We provide a welcoming email to new members so they can do this easily. When we all unite, we will effect change much quicker. We invite you to our new charts at http://www.fairfoundation.org/update.htm. The slice for diabetes is woefully insufficient.
Thanks again for your kind welcome!

Spring has sprung here which makes everything in Life better, I think. How exciting for you to start the pump. Do let us know how it goes. From others I gather one goes through an intitial period of figuring it all out and then everyone seems to love it......

Thanks for checking in. You have helped me settle into this site and so I think of you with each new little trick I learn technically.

Be well.....Judith in Portland
