Yes, the lows you're having are from the the lack of glucagon normally produced in the alpha cells. Glucagon triggers sugar release from the liver when blood sugar drops too low. That's very interesting. I've read about cases like yours but haven't had the pleasure of talking directly about the problem. Were the islet cells transplanted into the liver? This is beyond my normal scope of practice, but why not transplant alpha cells too?

Hey Robin,
Don't be so depressed we just found out that one of my husbands and my old running buddies died 5 days before Christmas! He was only 45 and not really a surprise with his health as bad as it was but still a surprise!

I'm here! Doing alright even though I'm getting threw my 44th Christmas! Now I feel OLD!!!! HA! I got to watch my 14 month old granddaughter open her presents! To see the joy in her eyes when she got the 4 wheeler (battery operated of course) was worth it!!! Maybe its just the holidays that are getting to us recon????

Hey that bizillion aire sounds good but my dad's still here (not even wishing me a Merry Christmas. They make good ones and bad ones looks like you got the good one and me well he's my dad and that's about all THAT'S WHY I WANT MY MOM BACK SOOOOOOOOOO BAD! I really depended on her and now almost everybodys gone and all I have left is my grandmother and my (found a new family) father and when my grandma's gone that will be my family!

Thank You and life was way much eaiser then wasn't it! Mom and Dad had to make the bills and buy Christmas for everybody while paying for the house, car,& new truck and of course all the insurance!!! HA!!! Can we go back there please!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

MERRY CHRISTMAS if it's not to late in the day to wish you that!!!! We got top watch our granddaughter open her presents and that was so much fun!!!! Sometimes I wish I was that little again but then I think No Thank You God I wouldn't want to have to learn what I already know all over again!!!
