Hi Lotus, I do have a child with type 1. It seems that you have been at this longer than I have but if you ever want to talk please feel free. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hi, Lotus! I am not a parent of a diabetic child, but I have had type 1 since I was a little over 10 1/2 years old (now 23). If I am ever able to help, answer questions, or just listen, I'm here.

Lotus, here is giving you a warm and friendly welcome to TuDiabetes.com. This is a very neat site/blog that we all use to help and support each other. I hope to see you and your participation often. If I can be of any assistance please feel free to ask. Again, welcome aboard!!
Hi Lotus, Welcome.....My daughter is 6, she was dxd on june 29, 07....sleep overs......i have heard of parents who never allow it to parents that do.....You need to be comfortable with the parent and ask them how they feel about it, and if they know anything about diabetes...I have one parent that I would allow her to whatch my daughter, the mom has had cancer for 2yrs and understands if something needs to be done she'll do it....other parents?....no.
Otherwise you could be a helper at the party, if it's a party, or pick her up late.....or better yet, have friends over to your house, that way your in"control"...It's always hard to tell you child that she can't do something because of her d....i'm sure there are lots of other parents that will have plenty of ideas for you.
