College street in Rockridge is sprinkled with cafes and bars up and down its street, the only ones that really stick out are the ones with pool tables lol. Also really nice little shops, like a shop that sells just cheese, how amazing is that lol.

I was so excited to see you live in berkeley and do social advocacy...and then that you travel?! it's too good to be true! =) I love the bay area and if I was still in the u.s. I would be doing something related to social work....as for travelling, I've never done subsaharan africa or asia - both places I would love to go!

Hey Courtney,

I moved down to LA for grad school... never really had an obsession with it before!! About the pump.... I guess after two years of always having something attached to me I felt more free somehow with injections. I do end up taking between 5 and 7 injections a day (meals, snacks, if I'm a bit high) and I know there's lots of people who love the pump... oh, another reason I didn't go back is that my endo said that with using Lantus and Humalog, control is comparable to a pump. I think to make the pump really work for you, you have to work at it... which at the time I didn't. I think when I'm ready to think about having babies and stuff I might go back. Let me know how it goes with you!

Hey! I just read one of your comments in the young adult group. The beginning of your description sounded exactly like me.... 25 years-old, diagnosed just before graduating high school, went on to travel, Lantus, Humalog, etc. But, I went to Australia, I was too scared to try SE Asia alone! That's awesome that you did. How are you liking the pump? I had one for two years, but when it broke for a day I went back to injections and stayed on them even after my new pump arrived.
