Just had the most recent A1c and I'm messin' up. Went up to 6.1.
Now I have to go back to the Doc' in 3 months. Time to get back to serious. How about you all?
But the my Endo says I'm still doing better than 95% of his patients. I guess that's still pretty good. But it's not good enough for me, so I'll tell you in 3 months how I'm doing.

Hi Elaine,

I'm with you on that point. I always thought that maybe my immune system was on "over-drive" and could be one of the reasons I lost the function of my pancreas. Not all of it, just the insulin producing part.

Now about that other thing having to do with the Scandinavian factor... I was told by my grandfather, that my great-great grandfather, the first Jensen to come to the US, was rarely sick and smoked hand rolled cigarettes like a chimney. Seemed to always have one in his hand, almost burned to the fingers. How does that work?

Hey Andrew...you mentioned that you are never sick. I see you were diagnosed as an adult. I was diagnosed at 50. I rarely get sick...have not had so much as a cold since being diagnosed 3 years ago. What do you think about my theory concerning active heathy people with presumably good immunities, getting this autoimmune situation? Just for fun, lets throw in the Scandinavian factor......

Well, if I read a little further, I would know why our philosophies are similar. My daughter is a patient of Dr. Bernstein!! :)

Hi Andrew. I just read some of your blog. Wow! Your philosophy sounds JUST like ours. We have a very similar regimen (skip the banana, and add fish and chicken). Good for you. You seem like a healthy, sound, satisfied fella.

Hope you will add me as a friend as I would love for that 5.4 A1C to rub off on me. :)

It's great to be here. In fact, it's great to be anywhere when you have diabetes. (Yes, I can be very sarcastic at times.) But seriously, it's been a real find finding tudiabetes.com. I've been hesitant up to this point to join any online "diabetes" forums or blog-spots.

But no more. I won't be silent any longer. So I actually started my own blog as well. Yee-Ha!
