I just came across your blog yesterday and enjoyed it. Need to find a new form of exercise and would like to start running...for some reason it scares me though!!

Stacie,
Do you take a meter on your runs? I HATE wearing a fanny pack and was wondering if you have any tips about that. I'm considering getting the OneTouch Ultra Mini. I think it will fit nicely in the iPod pocket on my shorts. Hmmmm....

Hey Stacie,
Looks like you have a lot of great workout knowledge to share! :) I started a new group, Athletic Diabetics, where hopefully we can all pick up some great tips. I hope you'll join!

question for you, stacie...
how do you wear your pump when you run? normally, i clip it to my shorts/pants/whatever, but when i run, the clip irritates my side, and right now, i actually have a little brush burn where my pump's been irritating me. what do you do when you run with the pump?

hi stacie! i literally JUST finished a 5-mile run, and it was actually fun and good! i haven't checked my post-run sugar yet, though... but i felt good throughout, hurray!
i am going to do the 1/2 marathon plan on coolrunnings, i think. i am going to do the pre training week that they recommend next week and then start with the real training the first week in july!
are you training for anything right now? good luck on your run!

i'm kind of a newbie with racing... i just did a 5 miler and am signed up for a 4.2 in a couple weeks. the 1/2 marathon is over columbus day, so i'm pretty sure that that'll be ample time to train. i looked up a regimen on coolrunnings, but am not really decided on anything... any suggestions?
i saw that you ran a marathon! that is AWESOME! how do you handle your sugars over the long distances? any advice would be much appreciated. right now, i usually have about 25 g carbs beforehand and cut my basal rate to 0 or .05 u/hr. and i bring some gummi savers, but don't usually need them. i've also tried clif shot blocks and they also seem to do the trick.
